Vintage Stanley No. 27 1/2 Transitional Jack Plane Sweetheart:
$84.99
Up for sale is a genuine antique Stanley No. 27 1/2 transitional jack plane, made during Stanley\'s \"Sweetheart\" era — identifiable by the S.W. heart trademark stamped on the frog, dating this plane to roughly 1920–1935.
This is a hybrid plane: a cast-iron Bailey-style frog, lever cap, and adjustment mechanism mounted on a solid wood (beech) body/sole. Transitional planes like this were prized for gliding smoothly over wood-on-wood contact while offering the fine adjustability of Stanley\'s metal planes.
