Published by The World Publishing Company and based upon the broad foundations laid down by Noah Webster. This LARGE vintage dictionary includes extensive word definitions, illustrations, reference material, and the distinctive Indo-European “Tree of Languages” endpapers. This listing is for Volume I only. Volume II is not included. The book is in acceptable vintage condition with significant age-related wear. The burgundy hardcover has rubbing, scuffs, edge wear, and heavily worn/frayed corners. The top and bottom of the spine shows noticeable fraying and material loss. Interior pages show age toning, spotting/staining in some areas, and general signs of use and storage. The binding remains together and the dictionary is still usable and displayable. Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description. A great piece for a vintage library, office, bookshelf display, dictionary collection, historical reference collection, or decorative book décor.
