Vintage Large 16\" Mesoamerican / Pre-Columbian Style Terracotta Seated FigureFor your consideration is this striking and substantial vintage Mexican folk art terracotta sculpture. Standing at an impressive 16 inches tall, this hand-modeled clay figure is executed in the classic style of ancient Zapotec or Mayan funerary effigies and deities. The figure is depicted cross-legged, adorned with a highly detailed decorative headdress, broad ear spools, and incised body markings, while holding a traditional ceremonial item or drum in its lap. The surface features an excellent, mottled dark slip patina meticulously applied to capture the weathered, aged appearance of an archaeological artifact. This is a beautiful 20th-century revival piece that serves as a commanding statement object for global, primitive, or eclectic home decor collections.**Product Details & Measurements:**
