Vintage and VERY Rare Lionel No 5160 Speedway Official Viewing Stand New in Box!

ONE OF THE CLEANEST ON THE MARKET
Purchased from an estate sale of an individual who used to own a hobby store.

- Design Re-use: Lionel ingeniously repurposed the mold from their 1957 No. 465 Sound Dispatch Station.
- Details & Markings: The stand features a plastic multi-color body (typically red and beige) with "Lionel Speedway" heat-stamped on the front, alongside a paper insert depicting spectators.
- Accessories: The original version included roof-mounted flags, two horns, antennas, and a paper cut-out flag sheet.
- Functionality: Unlike the sound dispatch station it was based on, the 5160 does not feature any lights, sound mechanisms, or internal electrical hook-ups.
- Rarity: Because Lionel's slot car line was largely discontinued by 1963, very few viewing stands were produced, making complete units in their original boxes highly prized by vintage Lionel and model train collectors.
