Such a cool piece. Vintage circa-1930s Continental Scale Works physician’s scale from Chicago, with the original cream finish, black platform and tons of character.
And it still works! I tested it against a modern scale with multiple humans and it is accurate to the pound. The mechanical balance beam operates properly and has a 300 lb capacity.

I gave it a thorough, careful cleaning but intentionally did not restore or repaint it. The chips, oxidation and wear are part of its history and honestly make the piece.
Would be incredible in a vintage or industrial home, barbershop, gym, medical/dental office, studio, retail shop, restaurant — or for someone who just likes owning wonderfully weird old things.
The original height-measuring rod is missing. Otherwise sold exactly as pictured, with age-related wear shown in the photos.
