SKU: DIS-FLD1-7D55 1955 Walt Disney Los Angeles Airways Helicopter Photo Lot Howard Lowery COA • Bruce Bushman Estate • Jeffrey Evans Helicopter Archive 🚁 Description
Offered here is a highly collectible Disneyana and aviation crossover lot featuring two 8 x 10 black-and-white photographic prints showing the same Los Angeles Airways helicopter scene, plus a Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity.
The included COA identifies the certified photograph as an original photograph of Walt Disney boarding a Los Angeles Airways helicopter, taken in July 1955 and produced by Disney. The COA states the photograph came from the estate of Bruce Bushman, noted as a Disney animation layout artist, live-action film set designer, and Imagineer.
This lot comes from the Jeffrey Evans helicopter archive estate, adding a strong aviation-history provenance layer to an already desirable Disney-related piece.
🏰 What Is Included
- 📸 One COA-supported 8 x 10 photographic print identified by the Howard Lowery COA as the original Disney-produced photograph.
- 📝 Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity, certificate number 000006731, dated January 21, 2009.
- ✏️ Disney Studio reference number 7-55-DL-610 handwritten in pencil on the back of the COA-matched print.
- 🖼️ One additional 8 x 10 companion copy/reprint of the same image on Fuji Crystal Archive style paper with “DO NOT COPY” marking on the back.
⭐ Important Original Vs Copy Note
The two prints are not being represented as equal originals ONLY ONE IS AN ORIGINAL PRINT.
The premium item in this lot is the COA-matched 8 x 10 photographic print with the handwritten Disney Studio reference number 7-55-DL-610 on the back.
The second print is described conservatively as an additional companion photographic copy/reprint because it has Fuji Crystal Archive style watermarking and a bold “DO NOT COPY” marking on the back. It is included as a display/reference companion print and should not be treated as the original 1955 Disney-produced print.
🛩️ Historical Interest
This image has strong crossover appeal because it connects Walt Disney Productions, early Disneyland-era transportation history, Los Angeles Airways helicopter service, and the Sikorsky S-55 aviation collector market.
The helicopter visible in the image is marked Los Angeles Airways and shows registration N736A. Research identifies N736A as a Sikorsky S-55 operated by L.A. Airways / Los Angeles Airways.
The COA also connects the photograph to Bruce Bushman, a Disney artist and Imagineer associated with early Disneyland design history, making this more than just a transportation photo.
