Walthers Cornerstone Series #933-3040 "Car Shop" HO Scale Structure Kit, Sealed Walthers Cornerstone Series #933-3040 "Car Shop" HO Scale Structure Kit, Sealed Description

Topdog Presents: Always exciting stuff!

Offered here is a factory-sealed Walthers Cornerstone Series Car Shop kit, item #933-3040, in HO scale. This kit builds a three-stall brick railroad car repair shop with a distinctive saw-tooth style roofline and skylights, separate window and roll-up door components, floor grooves designed to accept Code 83 rail, and complete printed decals and instructions. The finished structure measures 11-5/8" x 8-13/16" x 7-5/8" (29.5 x 22.4 x 19.4 cm), with track centerlines spaced at 2-3/4" (70mm). The kit is molded in appropriate brick and trim colors along with clear plastic for the glazing, and features a modular design that allows it to be combined with other Cornerstone shop and roundhouse kits to build out a larger complex.

Car shops were an essential part of any working railroad's infrastructure, evolving from small maintenance sheds into long, specialized buildings dedicated to freight or passenger car repair. Real-world versions of these structures ran several parallel tracks the full length of the building, allowing rolling stock to be moved efficiently between workstations for truck, brake, interior, and appliance repairs. Walthers' Cornerstone Series has long been a favorite among HO scale modelers for its combination of authentic industrial detail and a manageable footprint, and the Car Shop kit is designed to pair naturally with other Cornerstone shop buildings, such as the Machine Shop, Backshop, and Modern Roundhouse, to recreate a sprawling prototype-style servicing facility.

Condition: this kit is brand new and factory sealed in its original shrink wrap; the box shows light shelfwear and a few small scuffs/spots consistent with storage, but the seal itself is intact and the contents have never been opened. Please review all photos closely, as they form part of the description, and reach out with any questions before purchasing.
