Rare, super tough coin! This is the best detail/preservation I have seen on a draped bust half cent. This issue has a low mintage of just 356,000. The small area of damage is on the rim on the reverse as shown in the pictures - the design elements of the coin are in excellent condition. NGC does not assign numerical grades to details coins - this is certified as uncirculated details. Without the damage on the reverse, this would grade well - I think at least a 63, perhaps better? The best graded example by NGC is a 64. Please see the pictures, this is a great example - the only knock on the appearance is the coin is very dark brown. This example is the "Small 6 No Stems" variety.
Full Book value on a MS63 is $4,500. Open to offers on this exceptionally rare coin (Only 600 estimated survivors in all grades, R5.8 in all Grades; R8.2 MS60 or better).
