I sharpened the blade and then honed it with a leather strop. The handle was sanded and treated with BooS Block Board Cream.This knife at least 80 years old. The carbon ratio in blade is high THAT'S WHY IT CHIPPED. DON'T use it like a cleaver.It sharpens easy and holds the edge for a long time. A knife like this is my favorite.The handle is tight, held by 6 steel rivets.This knife has many more years of use left in it. Hand wash and dry thoroughly.
