In 1911, Wäldä Sadéq Goššu participated in the conflict between ras Abatä Bwayaläw and lég lyasu, on the side of ras Abatä. After the coup d\'état 1916 (s. EAE vol. 2, 1081) W.S. G. participated in the battle of Maqdäla between the Säwän troops and lyasu in 1917. He was dismissed together with other members of the Cabinet in 1918 and exiled. However, in the same year he returned to the capital to become Minister of Interior. At the end of his career, before the Italian war of 1935/36 he be came President of the Senate. In 1935 he was sent to Gore as a representa tive of the Emperor. During the Italian war, the day before his departure from Ethiopia, ase Haylä Sellase appointed Wäldä Sadéq Goššu President of the Provisional Government at Gore. However, Wäldä Sadéq Goššu surrendered to the Italians at the end of November 1936. He was one of the victims of the Graziani massacre (MahHorse 267). His wounds eventually led to his death.
