Original circa-1910 real photo postcard depicting the Congregational Church in Prescott, Pierce County, Wisconsin.
The identification is supported by an exact matching period image labeled “Congregational Church, Prescott, Wis.” Distinctive matching features include the open square belfry, shingled tower stage, classical front pediment, columned entrance porch, stone foundation, chimney, and row of tall stained-glass windows.
The winter scene shows snow surrounding the church, bare trees, and early utility lines crossing overhead. A sharp and appealing image with excellent architectural detail.
The reverse has an early divided-back postcard design with an illustrated one-cent stamp box. It is unused and unposted, with no message, address, stamp, or postmark. A small penciled “35” appears near the lower edge.
A scarce piece of Prescott, Wisconsin history that would appeal to collectors of RPPCs, historic churches, religious architecture, Pierce County memorabilia, and Wisconsin local history.
CONDITION
Good antique condition with clear detail and strong contrast. The card displays expected age-related sepia toning, scattered surface marks, light soiling, edge wear, and softened or bumped corners. The reverse has toning, scattered small stains or foxing, and a penciled dealer notation. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the condition description.
