The Montblanc Fountain Pen Writers Edition Alexander Dumas The Son is a vintage collector's item made in Germany. This elegant pen features a medium-sized gold 18K nib and gold trim, perfect for any writing enthusiast. The resin material used for the body of the pen adds a touch of luxury, making it a stunning addition to any collection of fountain pens. With the option to choose the ink color and the intricate design paying homage to Alexander Dumas, this fountain pen is sure to impress both collectors and writers alike.
Pen is preowned. It was issued in the year 1996 and I obtained this pen sometime around the year 2000 in an sale. I've never inked it or used it. The serial number on the cap is XXXXX/20000. The absence of an "N" in the serial number and the signature confirm that the pen was issued mistakenly with the son's signature instead of the famous author. MontBlanc corrected the error and issued a new set of pens with the proper signature.
The pen itself is in mint like condition. I cannot represent it as "never inked" as it was preowned. But, I see no evidence that it was inked.
The nib is the original nib. The "book box", and the international service booklet are in like new condition. The outer box is a little worn at the corners from storage and handling. Detailed photos are in the listing. If you would like more photos, let me know. If you have any questions please let me know.
I was a fountain pen collector and have a few more collectable pens to list.
