Made in Taiwan and first issued in 1999, it was offered for for several years thereafter. The PAC311MS design is based on the much more expensive Yamaha Pacifica 1511MS (now the 1600MS), the original Mike Stern signature model .
The Yamaha Pacifica 311MS features a telecaster-shape alder body with an ash laminated top, a black laminated pickguard and a tele-style hard tail bridge with a string-through body design.
