These nuts are a perfect solution where threads are needed in thin metal, much like a Rivnut but far stronger. An example from one customer was using them to replace the rusted out nuts on a pickup truck bed. The factory nuts are crimped to the cross frame and eventually rust out. Drill the old nuts out, drop in the weld nut and weld it. Much better solution, more rigid, and will last much longer. Fits perfectly . Actual testimonial.
