Cushion Diamonds

Five natural brown cushion diamonds, 0.48 carats in total, averaging ten points each. They run from pale champagne through to a deeper cognac brown, each stone its own tone rather than a set matched to one another. Clarity is VS — inclusions need magnification and nothing troubles the naked eye.
Ten points is a genuinely useful size. It is large enough to be the subject of a piece rather than an accent, and small enough that a single stone sits flush and unobtrusive on a ring or a chain. That is an awkward size to source one at a time and an easy one to design around once you have a few.
Brown diamonds sit outside the bridal market entirely, which is exactly why they suit contemporary and minimal work. They read as warm and quiet rather than as an attempt at colourless. In brushed gold, matte finishes and heavy simple metal they look deliberate. Against high polish and white metal they look like a compromise. Design accordingly and they are one of the most versatile things you can buy at this price.
Champagne through to cognac, five stones at ten points each. Quiet colour for pieces that do not need to shout.
What To Make With Them
This parcel is aimed squarely at simple, well-made pieces. Five stones gives you options: five separate small pieces, one design repeated, or a single statement piece with the rest held in stock.
Signet ring, single stone
The obvious use, and the best one. A ten-point cushion flush-set into the face of a heavy gold signet is understated and hard-wearing — no protruding setting to catch, nothing to snag, and the warm brown against yellow gold reads as intentional rather than as a diamond that failed to be white.
Minimal solitaire
A single stone bezel-set on a fine band. At ten points the stone sits low and close to the finger, which is what makes minimal work look considered rather than sparse. Works in yellow, rose or blackened silver.
Everyday stud earrings
Two stones make a pair. The tones vary across this parcel, so pick the two closest for studs — or set deliberately mismatched ones, which is a look in itself and increasingly asked for.
Pendant on a fine chain
One stone, bezel or rub-over set, on a thin chain. The size is right for something worn daily and never taken off, and brown will not look wrong against skin or clothing the way a white stone sometimes can.
Stacking rings
A set of thin bands, each with one stone, worn together. The tonal variation across the five becomes the point of the set rather than a flaw — five bands in graduating browns is a coherent piece.
Men\'s jewellery
Brown carries better than white in men\'s work — signets, tie bars, cufflinks, a single stone in a heavy band. Warm colour and a low profile read as restrained rather than decorative.
Metal advice, briefly: yellow and rose gold lift the warmth and are the natural pairing. Brushed and satin finishes suit these stones far better than mirror polish. Blackened silver and oxidised finishes give a stronger contemporary contrast if that is the direction. White gold and platinum are the hardest to make work — the cool metal fights the warm stone, and it takes a confident design to pull off.

Two Separate Guarantees
These are natural mined diamonds, not laboratory grown. Not CVD, not HPHT grown, not synthetic, not simulants. All five came out of the ground.
No treatment of any kind has been applied. Not irradiated, not HPHT colour treated, not coated, not painted, not laser drilled, not fracture filled, not heated, not enhanced in any other way. The colour in these stones is their own.
Our guarantee on both points: if any stone in this parcel is shown by a recognised gemmological laboratory to be laboratory grown, or to have been treated in any way, return the complete parcel within 30 days of delivery for a full refund including your testing costs. We will honour that without argument.
Worth knowing: brown is among the more commonly treated colours on the market — a great deal of brown material is HPHT processed, and irradiated browns exist too. That is precisely why we state the position as a guarantee backed by a refund rather than as a line in a description. If it matters to you, hold us to it.

Full Disclosure
This is a parcel of five stones and 0.48 carats is the total. Please do not read that as the weight of a single diamond. Each stone averages around ten points.
These stones are not a matched set. Tone runs from pale champagne through to deeper brown and the difference between the lightest and darkest is clearly visible in the photographs. If you need five stones that read identically, this parcel is not that — but if you are making five separate pieces, or a graduated set, the variation is an advantage.
The colour and clarity assessments are our own, made in Bangkok under standard grading conditions, not laboratory grades. A laboratory would grade each stone individually and may return different results. We describe these as natural fancy colour brown — the category their colour falls into — rather than quoting a saturation grade nobody has assigned.
No cut, polish or symmetry grades are offered, and individual measurements are not published in this listing. If you need the millimetre dimensions of particular stones for a setting, ask and we will measure them before you offer — on flush and bezel work that measurement matters more than the carat weight.
Every photograph and the video show the actual stones under natural light without colour correction. Brown reads warmer under incandescent light and flatter under cool daylight. Study all the images and ask us for more if you want them.
