Offered is an original colonial American manuscript certificate dated:
Boston, July 13, 1769
This document certifies that Isaac Means completed a regular course of instruction in:
"Practical Gauging of Cylinders, Cisterns, Tuns, Casks, &c."
The certificate states that the bearer is fully capable of determining the contents of various formed vessels according to practical rules used in commerce and trade.
The manuscript is signed by John Pike and features exceptionally attractive eighteenth-century penmanship with large ornamental flourishes.
