An attractive nineteenth-century edition of the poetical works of John Milton, issued as part of William Pickering's celebrated *Aldine Edition of the British Poets*. The collection includes Milton's great epic poems *Paradise Lost* and *Paradise Regained*, together with *Samson Agonistes*, his shorter poems, sonnets, and other verse. Distinguished by its elegant typography and scholarly presentation, the Aldine series was among the notable editions of English poetry published during the nineteenth century. Some slight rubbing and wear, foxing and discoloration, else in very good + condition.
