A genuine 1852 Braided Hair Large Cent offered honestly as a problem coin. The design detail underneath is respectable — LIBERTY is legible, the hair and portrait show Fine-to-Very-Fine definition, and the reverse wreath and ONE CENT read clearly.
However, in fairness, the coin carries environmental damage: green and yellow verdigris and light corrosion are present across both surfaces, as shown up close in the photos. This is why it is priced well below a problem-free example.
It still makes an inexpensive type coin or date filler for a mid-19th-century U.S. copper set. We have not cleaned it and are selling it strictly as-is — please look closely at the images and buy the coin, not the holder.
