Original payment document under the Bounty Act of 1863 for Civil War service to the mother of deceased soldier John Badgley of the Illinois Volunteers. This is document #108218 for payment in the amount of $118.45 and executed on September 13, 1864. Measures about 8.5” x 13”. This came out of a Civil War clearing house in Philadelphia I. The early 1900’s. I purchased a collection of these from a Civil War collector who has had them for about 60 years.
