Antique condition with substantial exterior wear consistent with age and use. The spine and corners show heavy rubbing, surface loss, fraying, scuffs, and worn edges. The burgundy cloth has fading, discoloration, and general shelf wear.
The interior is considerably better preserved, with generally clean pages, crisp printed detail, and attractive engravings. Expected age toning, occasional foxing, spotting, handling wear, and minor page imperfections may be present.
All 29 steel engravings listed in the volume have been checked and are present. The binding remains together, though the exterior wear is significant. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.
A Victorian art gallery you can lift—although at this size, perhaps use both hands.
