History of Greece by Victor Duruy, complete 8-book limited-edition set published in 1890.
This is the complete four-volume set, with each volume divided into Sections I and II, for a total of eight books. All eight books are matching No. 500 of the limited edition of 1,000 copies.
This handsome late-19th-century set is illustrated throughout and includes the notable chromolithographic plates by Dambourgez.
All eight books are present:
Volume I – Sections I & II
Volume II – Sections I & II
Volume III – Sections I & II
Volume IV – Sections I & II
Condition:
Very good overall condition for books that are approximately 136 years old. The books show age-appropriate wear, including exterior wear, rubbing, discoloration/foxing and other signs of age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description. Photos are intended to show the condition clearly, including the areas with the most noticeable wear.
A particularly desirable feature of this set is that all eight books remain together and carry the same limited-edition number, No. 500 of 1,000.
A scarce opportunity to acquire a complete, matching-number set of this elaborately illustrated 1890 edition of Victor Duruy's History of Greece.
Ships via USPS Media Mail. All the books together weigh approximately 36 lbs. I will break these down into either three or four separate packages. Each book will be individually bagged and boxed within the larger box.
