Up for sale is an original 1892 antique children's anthology titled Fun and Frolic: Stories and Poems. Published in Boston by the D. Lothrop Company, this late Victorian volume features contributions from popular period authors including Amanda B. Harris, Susan Coolidge, and Clara Doty Bates. Packed with classic black-and-white engravings and a vibrant color frontispiece depicting an early football/rugby match.
Condition Notes: Poor to Acceptable antique condition. The exterior chromolithograph board covers show heavy edge wear, corner rounding, and surface scuffing. The interior front hinge is completely split and broken, exposing the raw binding structure. The front flyleaf page has heavy vintage water staining and features a handwritten Christmas 1892 gift inscription. Pages show natural age-toning and handling wear.
