Attractive antique edition of the collected poetic and dramatic works of Alfred Lord Tennyson, published in 1898 as part of the Cambridge Edition of the Poets.
Bound in three-quarter leather with marbled paper boards, matching marbled endpapers, gilt-decorated spine, raised bands, leather spine labels, and gilt page edges. A handsome period binding that still displays nicely despite considerable exterior wear.
The exterior shows rubbing, scuffing and general wear from age and use, particularly to the leather spine, edges and corners. The marbled boards/endpapers also show areas of wear and loss. Slight separation is visible along an inner hinge; however, the book remains solid and both boards are firmly attached.
The interior is quite nice by comparison, with generally clean, well-preserved pages and only typical signs of age.
