A complete and exceptionally rare Georgian suite of four copperplate engravings titled “Shooting”, engraved by William Woollett (1735–1785) after the celebrated sporting paintings of George Stubbs, RA (1724–1806).
This renowned series depicts the progression of a day’s sport and represents one of the finest collaborations between England’s greatest sporting painter and its most important landscape engraver. Complete sets of all four plates are exceptionally rare, as the majority of surviving examples are found individually or as broken groups. Finding the full four-plate series together — particularly preserved in original period frames — is increasingly close to impossible.

All four engravings are beautifully preserved in original period frames, glazed behind glass, and presented as a unified decorative suite. They are ready to hang and ideal for a country house, library, sporting lodge, or refined traditional interior.
