Authentic 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition bronze award medal from the historic Seattle World’s Fair, designed by Frederick (F.) Ziegler and manufactured by Gorham Company.The obverse features an elaborate relief composition with Columbia seated at center holding a branch and a portrait of George Washington, accompanied by figures representing the Pacific Northwest, with a steamship and rising sun in the background. “ALASKA • YUKON • PACIFIC • EXPOSITION – 1909 • SEATTLE • 1909” surrounds the design, with F. Ziegler’s signature visible below.The reverse features an ornate botanical border surrounding the original “BRONZE MEDAL” award panel. The lower presentation cartouche remains blank, indicating this example was not personalized with a recipient’s name.A substantial early 20th-century American exposition medal with beautiful aged bronze patina and strong relief detail.
