Here\'s a pretty incredible museum quality piece of horse racing history. This is an oversized photo collage of the 1914 Kentucky Derby won by the great Hall of Famer Old Rosebud. This piece was owned by the gelding\'s trainer, Frank Weir, and is a one-of-a-kind piece (please see my other listings for a couple other different Weir items). This is very large at about 21.5\"x17.5\" and has a total of nine photos - the large photo shows the winning connections of owner H.G. Applegate, jockey John McCabe and trainer Frank Weir. Their names are hand-written on the photo and there is also a very cool colored artwork with some roses in the middle. The top left is possibly the groom, then the top middle looks like the Derby crowd, and top right appears to be McCabe again. The bottom left is Old Rosebud walking at Churchill Downs, then next is the Derby finish line shot, next is maybe a reverse angle (not sure on that one), and then the winner\'s circle photo and then a workout shot. The eight smaller photos are pasted onto the larger photo, which is pasted onto black cardboard. The cardboard has some wear around the edges but is pretty good considering it\'s 111 years old. The photos themselves are also really nice with just a few spots of wear here and there. There is a small tear in the cardboard on the left side just under the groom photo and the creasing extends a bit into the large photo but not much. On the back is Frank Weir\'s name and address. The last photo in the listing shows coverage of the Derby in the newspaper (including the same connections photo) and is not included (it\'s just a screenshot).
This would look amazing if you got it framed.
