This is the first and photoplay edition of the novel, issued in conjunction with the First National motion picture directed by George Fitzmaurice and starring silent-screen favorite Colleen Moore and a young Gary Cooper.The volume contains 13 black-and-white photographic illustrations from the film, including the frontispiece showing Cooper and Moore.The gray cloth book is notably clean and well preserved for its age, with a firm binding and clean, unmarked-looking interior. The scarce original color dust jacket remains substantially complete but has considerable edge wear, chipping, creasing, rubbing and short tears, with losses around the spine ends and corners.
