1930s Auth Shuron Gold-Filled Ful-Vue Spectacles Brooklyn New York Optician Case:
$199.96

A completely original, unbroken estate set that has remained together for nearly a century. It features pristine 1930s Shuron Optical Co. gold-filled wire frames housed inside their original, custom-stamped hard-shell velvet-lined case from the historic practice of A.J. Radin Optometrists (historically located at 228 Livingston St. in Downtown Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Abraham J. Radin was a highly successful, licensed optometrist and optician who established a long-standing family practice in Brooklyn. He initially operated his boutique from the Boerum Hill location printed on this case (165 Nevins Street). [1]
Abraham Radin\'s descendant—Max F. Radin (M. F. Radin)—later took over the family optical lineage, solidifying the name \"Radin\" as a neighborhood staple for eye care.
Today: The multi-generational family business relocated just a few blocks away to 228 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn, where the practice continues to operate as an independent local optician under the historic name. The Era: Classic 1930s Art Deco period. The Bridge: Features an ultra-rare, high-demand Geometric Step-Bridge with sharp, architectural tiered detailing.
The Style: Patented \"Ful-Vue\" alignment, a revolutionary era design where the temple arms mount to the very top corners of the rims, designed to keep a driver’s or wearer’s peripheral vision entirely clear.
The Temples: Beautiful, flexible wrapped cable temples engineered to hook securely behind the ears. The underside of the structural step-bridge is deeply stamped: \"1/10 12K GF\" alongside the official early Shuron maker\'s marks well as both arms. See in pictures.Frames: Exceptional museum/collector grade condition. The wire chassis is completely straight and retains its brilliant, rich 12k gold luster. Minimal, light, age-appropriate cleaning patina near the nose pad hinges which adds to its undeniable antique charm.
Case: Extraordinary structural condition with bold, crisp, fully legible gold foil lettering reading: \"A. J. Radin, Optometrist, Brooklyn, N.Y.\" The internal dark velvet lining is safely preserved but there is wear matching the glasses see in pictures. Also a mark on the outside of the case. Case closes as it should .
Lenses: Retains the original mid-century real prescription glass lenses, entirely intact. No chips.
