1930s Finchley Fashion Park White Tie Tailcoat Tuxedo Wool Pants Vintage Formal
Rare pre-war Finchley white tie evening tailcoat with heavyweight wool formal trousers, found together as an estate set.
The tailcoat bears its original woven label reading:

Research into the documented Finchley/Fashion Park relationship, period advertising, label and garment construction indicates the tailcoat most likely dates to the 1930s, with a broader possible range from the late 1920s into the early 1940s. Exact year of manufacture is unknown.
Beautiful period formalwear construction with dramatic peak lapels faced in finely ribbed black grosgrain, matching grosgrain-covered buttons, six-button front arrangement, sharply cutaway waist, four covered buttons at each cuff, welt breast pocket, long formal tails and two covered buttons at the rear waist.
Includes the heavyweight black wool formal trousers found with the coat. The trousers have an exceptionally high 15” rise characteristic of traditional formal evening dress.
CONDITION:
Remarkably well preserved considering its age. The exterior wool presents exceptionally well. No moth damage found upon inspection. Visible fibers in photographs are surface lint.
There are a few small areas of loose stitching around the coat armholes. Interior shows minor age-related wear. No modern care, fiber-content or size labels are present.
Garments have not been restored or dry cleaned and are being offered in their present vintage condition. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
