Early 1930s-40s Schlitz Export Beer 12-ounce empty beer bottle featuring original paper labels. The main label is marked with “Dist. No. 7U730” and displays small punched-out areas, a common practice for tracking tax or distribution in the mid-20th century. The neck label states “Bottled at the Brewery”. The bottle was manufactured by Owens-Illinois Glass Company, as indicated by the mark on the base, with the numbers 7, 8, and 17, denoting plant location & production year, and suggesting a production year of the late 1930s or 40s. Schlitz, once one of America\'s largest brewers, produced a variety of export bottles for domestic and overseas markets during this period.
Condition of the bottle is used, empty. No chips or cracks on the bottle; there are some very light scratches/scuffs in places. There is an irregular curved seam that bows outward from the left side mold seam. The neck label has some light creasing, edge wear in places, and the right side has a small tear at the top edge. The main label has edge wear & chipping at the top and a small spot on the bottom edge.
