1935-36 Diamond M.B. Hockey- Syd. Howe- HOF- St. Louis Eagles- (for 34 games):
$175.00
The St. Louis Eagles were a franchise in the NHL for 1 season. Originally one of the charter members of the NHL ( 1917), the Ottawa Senators moved there in an effort to save their failing fortunes--- things did not get better in St. Louis and even after trading/ selling two key players for the then unheard of sum of $50000.00 the league forced them to disband at seasons end... One of those players was Syd. Howe, who had only played 34 games as an Eagle. He would go on to extend his career and become a member of the NHL Hall of Fame. He would also earn the distinction of being the only man to play for the Eagles and the Philadelphia Quakers-- the leagues most famous failed franchises... Matchbook is in excellent shape-- striker untouched--- matches removed and flattened and stored untouched for these 90 years it would seem--- rare, in great condition and twinged with NHL history--free shipping
