Original World War II-era Volume 39, Number 4 quarterly bulletin of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR/NSSAR), published in Washington, D.C.
Historically notable “No Congress in 1945” issue. The SAR canceled its annual congress because wartime Office of Defense Transportation restrictions could not accommodate the unrestricted delegate attendance required by the Society’s constitution. Other contents include President General Smith L. Multer’s message, Colonel William Craig as an Idaho pioneer, military service notes and awards, the National SAR Library, state-society events, new-member records, and an ancestor index for January-April 1945. A January 1946 SAR notice stated that headquarters’ supply of this April 1945 issue was completely exhausted.
Condition and scope
Yellow cover with age toning, handling and soil, scattered stains and marks, vertical creasing, edge/corner wear, lower-left creasing, and a chipped/lost lower-right corner. Approximately 7 x 10 inches from the photographed ruler; approximate. Only the front cover is photographed.
