Up for sale is a vintage copy of "Naval Ordnance and Gunnery" (NAVPERS 16116-A), revised edition issued in March 1946 by the Bureau of Naval Personnel. This massive training textbook was utilized at the conclusion of World War II to train naval officers and sailors on shipboard artillery, battleship guns, fire control, and ammunition.
Crucially, this copy includes the large, rare foldout technical schematic charts intact at the back of the book (as shown in the photos). These delicate pull-out blueprints are frequently torn out or missing from surviving copies, making this a highly complete example for collectors.
The book is a blue hardcover with gold gilt lettering on the front cover and spine. It contains extensive technical diagrams, black-and-white photographs, and schematic illustrations covering the mechanics of naval warfare.
Condition Notes:
Please look closely at the photos to evaluate the condition. The large pull-out foldout charts are completely intact and pull out cleanly without major tearing. The binding is solid, and the pages are clean with minimal foxing or discoloration typical of its age. Perfect addition to any WWII memorabilia collection, naval history archive, or military library.
