Member: American Watercolor Society, California Water Color Society.
James Vance grew up in the Los Angeles area and began studying at Art Center while still in high school. After additional studies in watercolor painting in Los Angeles and New York, he began exhibiting his works nationally.
Vance lived in California most of his life and worked as an illustrator, designer and art director for the motion picture and television industries. In addition, he taught watercolor painting at the Kansas City Art Institute.
