Original 1953 promotional piece for Universal-International’s It Came From Outer Space, the classic science-fiction film released during the height of the original 3-D movie craze.
The front features the striking original 3-D promotional artwork with the giant eye and the famous advertising message:
“FANTASTIC SIGHTS LEAP AT YOU! IN 3-DIMENSION”
The reverse features two original film still images along with promotional text describing the movie.
Approximate size: 10” x 6½”.
This is an unusual format and does not appear to be a standard 11” x 14” lobby card. It appears to be a smaller promotional/advertising piece, possibly produced for distribution through a publication or trade advertising campaign. The exact original publication source is unknown, so it is being offered based on what can be confirmed from the piece itself.
Condition
Vintage 1953 paper with age-related toning, edge wear, creasing and handling marks. Most notably, the printed wording on the right side of the reverse appears to be cut off/truncated, suggesting the piece may have been trimmed from a larger printed sheet or publication. Please examine all photographs carefully; the exact item pictured is the one you will receive.
A fantastic piece of 1950s science-fiction and 3-D movie history, particularly appealing to collectors of It Came From Outer Space, Universal-International, classic sci-fi, 3-D cinema and vintage movie advertising.
