1964 Ann Arbor May Festival Program Stravinsky Van Cliburn + UMS Ephemera:
$39.88

Original 1964 program for the Seventy-First Annual Ann Arbor May Festival, presented by the University Musical Society at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, April 30 and May 1–3, 1964.

This was an exceptional six-concert festival featuring The Philadelphia Orchestra at all six performances.

Notable performers and conductors included:

* Igor Stravinsky and Robert Craft as guest conductors

* Van Cliburn performing in the final all-Rachmaninoff concert

* Eugene Ormandy

* Joan Sutherland

* Philippe Entremont

* Thor Johnson

* Charles Treger

* University Choral Union

The official surviving program confirms that the May 3 afternoon concert featured Stravinsky and Robert Craft, while the final evening concert paired Eugene Ormandy and Van Cliburn in an all-Rachmaninoff program.

A desirable piece of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Hill Auditorium, and twentieth-century classical-music history.

Condition: Cover shows age toning, scattered spotting/foxing, edge and corner wear, and light creasing. Interior pages shown appear clean with normal age toning. No writing seen. Overall wear is consistent with a sixty-plus-year-old concert program.

Perfect for collectors of Ann Arbor and University of Michigan history, classical concert memorabilia, Igor Stravinsky, Van Cliburn, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and historic Hill Auditorium programs.
