LAST PRICE DROP, IF IT DOESN\'T SELL, I\'LL KEEP IT..... Nice 1964 Gretsch Double Anniversary. This is a really clean example of a 62 year old guitar. Original Hilotron pickups have that clarity that you can’t duplicate. Finish is original with some minor wear and scratches. One strap pin has been replaced with a gold one. I replaced a broken tuner which matches well with the others. The pickguard has been replaced with a repro. Wiring appears to be all original. Only mod is I added a slight treble bleed on the master volume pot. It is only a resistor (no capacitor). I tried a few different kinds of treble bleeds including the one on newer Gretsch guitars, but they all seemed harsh to my ears. I use this type treble bleed on a few on my guitars. The guitar plays real nice with comfortable action. As I mentioned, it is a 62 year old guitar so slight scratches, chips, and scratchy volume pots are to be expected. Due to its age, this guitar is sold as is. It is over 60 years old and has minor scratches dings and wear, but it plays and functions as it should.
There is a small dent in the back where it meets the side. The cracking appears to be in the finish only. I see nothing abnormal from looking from the inside.
The neck appears to have the factory small Gretsch frets and plays very nice. There are some grooves in the frets. Neck angle is good and the binding is in real nice shape. Comes with an old Gretsch case which may be original. Conus shipping only.
