This may be the most complete 2002 Air Conditioning System available in this condition you will find for some time. If you are looking to retrofit AC, this may be your chance! Aftermarket kits are available, but you lose the originality factor, as well as you will drop around $3k plus installation!
Included in this kit is an almost full stock BEHR AC system removed from a 1974 BMW 2002. I have had this in storage for over 10 years and now am listing it here. It has ALL interior and under dash parts, hoses and switches, fans and evaporators, but DOES NOT include a compressor and bracket. The old ones were totally outdated, and you can find very efficient ones for a better system.
NOTE: there are slight differences in the side panels of the interior unit between Stick Shift models and Automatic models. This assembly came out of an Automatic car. There are a number of adaptations that can be made if you are putting this into a stick shift car. It all has to do with the size of the transmission tunnel under the dash. However, the basic cooling mechanics are ALL the same, and only the two side panels are different. There is a lot of info available on line to explain all these differences and installation options. I have printed most of this info and include it with this sale.
I have also included photos of the AC system before removal to help with installation, as well as a complete list of items needed to comprise a complete AC system. I have also included pages of instruction and comments as to sources for compressors and for any adaptations you might want to make to the side panels depending on the transmission of your car.
