1973 Yamaha AT3MX. 2-Stroke.First off due to past misunderstandings I do NOT accept \'s Secure Purchase.
Rare bike, original survivor. This was Yamaha\'s Motocross offering in the 125 class in 1973, the YZ series didn\'t debut until 1974. This bike was equipped from the factory with Yamaha\'s GYT (Genuine Yamaha Tuning) kit. This consisted of a ported and polished cylinder, a high compression head, Hi-Perf piston and ring, larger Mikuni carburetor, expansion chamber and different air box. This brings the horsepower up from 12-13 HP on the enduro model to 21-22 HP on the MX version. That made this bike very competitive in 1973. An interesting side note-Yamaha\'s GYT kit was also available over the counter for $199.99!
This is not a restored bike or a show bike., it is a super nice rider that presents very well. It is basically a 100% original survivor, the only non-original parts I see is the front fender and front number plate. The seat has a small tear, the tank has a few dents, original paint is pretty nice, inside of the tank is rust free. The chrome is remarkably nice. I have been riding it as is and it gets a ton of attention but it would also be a perfect candidate for a 100% full restoration, It starts 1 or 2 kicks, runs well with a strong power band. Shifts and stops as it should. Tires are good, clutch is good, brakes are good. Oil injection is intact and working. There are no leaks. Needs nothing to ride. This has been my trail bike for the last 2 years and has never let me down, has plenty of snot, and is a blast to ride. The 2 stroke sound and smell brings you right back to the 70s.The tool bag is not included. There is no title, they didn\'t issue one for MX bikes back then. You will get a Bill of Sale.
