Vintage 1978 Seiko King Quartz 5856-8070, serial 860691, imported from Japan. It has a 35 mm stainless-steel case, textured silver dial, applied baton markers, English/Kanji day-date display, and a King Quartz-signed bracelet clasp. The bracelet fits approximately a 16.5 cm wrist.
Why it stands out: In 1969, Seiko introduced the Quartz Astron, the world\'s first commercially available quartz wristwatch. This 1978 King Quartz comes from the era when Seiko was turning that breakthrough into refined everyday watches. Its caliber 5856, textured dial, and bilingual English/Kanji day wheel give it a distinctly 1970s Japanese character. The signed clasp is another appealing period detail.
