Complete 135-card 1982 TCMA Baseball\'s Greatest set with White Backs, includingall three subsections: Sluggers, Hitters, and Pitchers. The set features manyof baseball\'s greatest stars, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, JoeDiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, JackieRobinson, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Warren Spahn, Bob Feller, Satchel Paige,Walter Johnson, Cy Young, and many others.
These cards were purchased in 1982 and then put away, where theyremained for approximately 44 years until now. The cards have beenexceptionally well preserved and are remarkably consistent in conditionthroughout the entire set.
Condition
The cards generally appear to be in NM-MT condition, with smooth surfaces,sharp corners, crisp edges, and clean, well-preserved fronts and backs.Importantly, the star cards are in the same overall condition as the rest ofthe set; there is no separate group of better or worse cards.
The backs are equally well preserved and match the condition ofthe fronts.
There is one known condition issue in the entire 135-card set.Earl Averill\'s card has staining across the front from having been stored inclose proximity to a rubber band for many years. The staining is shown clearlyin the photos. This is the only observed condition issue among all 135 cards.
Variation Note
Cy Williams #40 is the original blue-ink-back variation with No MLB Logo.The back of the card is shown in the photos so buyers can clearly see thevariation.
Overall
An unusually clean and well-preserved 135-card vintage TCMA set, especiallyconsidering that these cards have been stored since their original purchase in1982. With the exception of the disclosed staining on the Earl Averill card,the cards are remarkably consistent in condition and display very well as agroup.
