Description
Collection of 20 original Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly magazines dating from April 1952 through to November 1967.
The collection includes several desirable earlier issues from the 1950s, together with magazines featuring famous players such as Stanley Matthews, Jack Milburn, Alan Ball, John White, Johnny Byrne, Alan Hodgkinson and others.
Also included are cup-related editions, including the June 1967 Cup Final Special.
These magazines contain period football articles, photographs, club features, player profiles and advertisements, making them an interesting collection for football historians, memorabilia collectors or anyone nostalgic for the game’s post-war era.
This is an assorted collection rather than a complete yearly run. All 20 magazines shown are included and will be sold together.
Condition
Acceptable vintage condition overall.
These magazines are approximately 59–74 years old and show substantial age-related wear. This includes creasing, scuffing, worn and rubbed covers, discolouration, marks, edge wear, small tears and heavily worn spines. Some covers and pages may have larger tears, splitting or looseness around the staples.
There is handwriting on the covers of some issues, including names or ownership marks. The October 1961 cover has a prominent horizontal tear across the upper section.
The magazines have not been checked page by page, so no guarantee can be made regarding inserts, posters, centre pages or absolute completeness.
