These are reprints from the original 1986 Big Apple Award Winner MVPS set. Big Apple put out several of these oversize sets in 1986 and this one was definitely the hardest to find. I had a few singles now and then in the 1990s and didn't even know what was in the entire set. A few years ago I found a set and found out that it was printed on red or blue card stock.
The brown reprints are oversized like the originals, while the white minis are close to standard card size, though they are slightly narrower to keep in line with the original proportions.
The set was made up of the MVPs from 1985-1975, so you would think it would be 22 cards, but Joe Morgan, Mike Schmidt and Dale Murphy all won twice and they were only give one card, so that brings the set down to 19 players. But in 1979 there was a tie in the NL between Keith Hernandez and Willie Stargell so there were three cards from that year, making the set a nice even 20 cards.
