This custom-built Cat Engine Harness is a must-have for anyone looking to swap out their mechanical engine and connect their 40-pin Cat ECM to their Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, International, etc. You must specify that your truck is a Peterbilt when ordering the harness because of the clutch switch location. Harness comes with orange and red 3/4" LEDs for the Check Engine and Engine Warning lights, 6 wire diagnostic connector, plus complete instructions and wire schematic.With this harness the interior portion of the harness will connect to Jake, cruise, clutch and brake switches. In the instructions I provide you with Kenworth and Peterbilt part #s for the correct switches. The interior harness is wired for a 3 position Deutsch connector that will connect to a Cat throttle sensor.
With this harness the ECM will not control engine fan operation. The engine fan operation will rely on the same switch and circuit system that is used for the mechanical engine. Consisting of: 1.) A 2-wire thread in Horton style fan switch in the head or thermostat housing. 2.) Keeping all the A/C wiring and switches. 3.) Keeping the manual dash mounted fan override switch and wiring.With this harness the tach and speedometer will be powered by the truck harness and speed sensors in the flywheel housing and the transmission tailshaft, not the ECM. If you need the ECM to power these gauges, that can be done. Message me and we can discuss it.This harness was designed to be installed on a conventional truck.
