FRONT SHIFTER MOUNT
Do not remove the upper shifter linkage.
Remove old rubber bushing from the lower shifter linkage at the transmission mounting stud.
Install the new poly bushing into the linkage with the part facing outward away from transmission.
REAR SHIFTER MOUNT
The rear shifter bushing is constructed from stiff polyurethane. This material is flexible enough to allow for normal drivetrain movement, but stiff enough to eliminate the large amounts o defection from the stock part.
Transmission tunnel heat shield must be removed to gain access to mount location. Rear drive shaft center support may also need to be loosened for ease of removal and installation of new bushing. See picture to the right for correct orientation of new bushing when installing. A small dab of grease on the end of the shifter will also help in installation.
The rear shifter bushing removes the soft rubber bushing on the back of the shifter rod. This vital connection point joins the shifter mechanism to the chassis. Installing the stiffer rear shifter bushing makes the shifter feel even more connected to your transmission.
