Large Quarto. Ex-library: labels on upper spine. Book plates on front-paste down, library stamp on FFEP. Leather is scuffed, but supple. Boards are stamped with a gilded oval supralibis which appears to be the Royal Coat of Arms of France commonly found on binding from the reign of Louis XV. Raised bands with decorative stamping on the spine and marbled end-papers. All are worn. The hinges are cracked but the binding is sound. Cloth bookmarks sewn in. Paper has age tanning and foxing. Tears at the top of title page on volume one.
