ANTIQUE TEXTILE
Adorable antique needlepoint or hooked style textile measuring 29-3/4\" long by 15-3/4\" tall in size. Featuring the sweetest cat wearing red bow collar, she sits amid flowers and greenery - backing is sturdy burlap fabric, stamped with numbers as shown - with two finished edges and two turned edges - I believe this is made of wool - almost reminds my of antique carpet, but thin. I do not know if it was machined or hand made, but since the stitches are all consistent, assuming machined - it was purchased in France.
Condition is very nice with no stains, holes, loose threads or damage other than light age related wear and colors are toning a bit bright in my images. It is unframed, but suitable for wall hanging, used as a table center runner or even a rug in front of a fireplace or similar (it has not been used for this purpose). It is a charming piece - visually interesting with wonderful folk art appeal - lovely addition to any home, collection or display!
