This is an authentic antique rug needle / punch needle tool dating to the late 1800s–early 1900s. It comes from a Tennessee/Mississippi family and has been passed down through five generations of my family. The tool is handmade, featuring a carved wooden body, iron blade, and two hand‑forged metal bands securing the blade in place. A small wooden side peg is present, used historically to adjust tension or blade depth.
These early textile tools were used for making rag rugs, hooked rugs, and heavy household mats long before commercial latch‑hook kits existed. The craftsmanship and wear patterns are consistent with genuine 19th‑century domestic tools. Items stored in a climate controlled smoke free environment. We pack your items with care and ship fast.
