Antique 1817 Regency Sheet Music Bound Book Princess Charlotte Memorial Bishop For Sale

original Regency-era bound sheet music volume (Sammelband) containing approximately 100 pages of engraved early 19th-century sheet music. Compiled in Scotland around 1817 to 1822, this collection gathers rare London and Scottish publications preserved in its period half-leather binding over marbled boards. Highlighting this volume is a scarce 1817 memorial piece for Princess Charlotte of Wales by Henry R. Bishop, complete with an engraved tomb vignette issued shortly after her death in childbirth. Additional notable pieces include Henry R. Bishop’s Overture to Guy Mannering (adapted from Sir Walter Scott's 1815 novel), John Whitaker's "Oh! Say Not Woman's Heart is Bought" as performed at Covent Garden, Thomas Moore's "The Tyrolese or Liberty," František Kotzwara's popular "Battle of Prague" sonata, and A. Thomson's piano instruction method published in Glasgow. Several title pages feature period oval ink stamps from Scottish music dealers J. McFadyen and J. Brown. The binding displays authentic antique rubbing, edge wear, and distress to the leather and boards, with hinges remaining tender but intact. Internal pages are complete and firmly bound on heavy laid paper, showing light age-toning, foxing, and minor historical paper tape reinforcement along a few gutter margins. A remarkable, complete historical artifact with strong royal and musical provenance.
