Up for sale is an authentic, antique machinist’s revolution counter / mechanical speed indicator manufactured by The Tabor Manufacturing Company of New York (stamped with the 1885 patent date on the dial).This hand-held industrial tachometer was used by late 19th-century machinists and engineers to measure the RPM of rotating shafts on steam engines, mills, and early machinery. It features a beautifully detailed circular dial face, a worm-gear drive system, and its original triangular contact tip.
Condition: beautiful vintage condition for its age. This tool has been carefully cleaned and the internal gear mechanism is fully functional. When the tip is turned, the dial advances smoothly and accurately.
